What People are Saying
"...and the ruthless, unrelenting intensity of Jill, played by Marianne Ryan, (think Lilith from "Cheers", one wonders what motivates these two people to continue after they crash on contact. Clearly the show wouldn't be as penetrating without the extraordinary energy, focus and commitment of Marianne Ryan and Daniel Rappaport in the title roles. Ryan's Jill is emotionally angular and terse... with sympathetic, straightforward characterizations that depict raw expectations and vulnerabilities."

Marianne is the ultimate gifted professional and remains a constant joy on stage and off.

~ Joey Patton, Director

Marianne is a fearless actor who loves the rehearsal process. She is open to suggestion from a director and a tireless seeker of the truth. When I directed her in Jane Martin's JACK & JILL: A LOVE STORY she brought a complexity and honesty to the character of "Jill" that was truly inspiring. I look forward to our next opportunity to work together.

Marianne played George Sand in a performance of our biographical musical theater piece about the famous French writer. She was great to work with, very hard-working and professional. Our musical was flawed, but Marianne came very close to making it work; her acting gave the piece a depth that gripped the audience. As writers, we still feel grateful for what she did.

"Tunefulness is reserved for "They Were You," the final love song in Act 2, but is more of a reflection of animal high spirits and lends itself to some nice harmonization by the two principals. Luisa, played by Marianne Ryan, cries of joy when the Boy calls to her through the wall that he loves her are genuinely, spine-chillingly ecstatic - one of the high points of the show."
